appreciate any information regarding, field-mics, or field recorders. i was told to stay away from m-audio, but not sure about which make or model. do you or anyone you know have one, if so, go on :}.
ive been toying with the idea of getting one for a while, but it always escapes me.

| zoom H2 here, very very happy with it, but for more specific needs, I'd get the H4N. Worth every penny. |

| nice how is the High end? the h4 is a bit much for me, h2 seems more of a fit. cool thunder samples, reminds me of my friends track , he made it when he was 15years old or so. have you done a lot of one-shots? |

I have an M-Audio Microtrack 24/96. It served me adequately for a while, but now I am looking into the Sony PCM-D50, which seems to be very well-reviewed.
Those Zoom ones look nice, though. |

What kind of batteries do the Zoom recorders use? One thing that really annoyed me about the M-Audio is its proprietary battery, which as far as I know can only be replaced for ~$70 by sending the unit back to M-Audio. Ridiculous, really.
[Nevermind, I see the Amazon page says the Zooms take standard AA. Sweet.] |

| I had one but I remember being pissed cause it doesn't actually do the slow-motion thing like in the movie and I'm pretty sure it broke after like a week. |
