Parking/Stationnement

One thing about Montreal that still confounds me is the friggin' parking. Half the time I feel like I am simply rolling the Dice and expect my car to be ticketed or towed.

So my question is, if I am coming into town to head to Stereo or Circus, where's the best place to park?

as tempting as it may be DO NOT PARK IN FRONT OF STEREO AT THE OPPOSITE SIDE OF THE STREET

it appears to be fine (almost too perfect) but then you get a ticket if you stay past 6am (or 5am I can't remember)

Just make sure you review the parking signs and you shouldn't really have a problem. Personally, I use the parking lot behind stereo. It's safe, reliable, and has a ticket machine so you don't have to rely on an attendant working there.

For circus I use the paid parking lot on the right of the club where the old entrance used to b

Park underneath the Gouverneur Hotel, entrance on St-Hubert

1) you won't get a ticket
2) nobody will smash your windows (happens all the time, I live 2 streets away)

^ It's safe, but costs $20. Plus navigating that compact labyrinth the morning after a night of partying :nervous:

I'm not giving up my free safe spot :D

I heard it was a very good club, but the right side of the dancefloor really dominated the place.

I've gotten a few over the years and never paid them. Always wondered if they would carry over from a previous vehicle to a new one. I've only got one on my present car, but I just park safe now to avoid the possibility.

Also, a friend got his car broken into when he was parked in that lot behind Stereo. He was Morales' lighting guy and had some equipment stolen. Such an awesome way to end a long night.
