Sick party.
Mike Gibbs should be gigging everywhere, I love this guys sets. No boring dead spots, and unique riff after unique riff.
Nutshell Review:
Got there at 11:30, saw lots of familiar faces- Harvest/Cherry Beach etc.
Danced up a storm, left at 3am since today had to be productive. Sound was terrifyingly powerful. Perfect for some of the darker brooding techno later on at night.
Total plur vibe. Everyone was there to dance. A couple people had B.O. that could cripple an elephant.
All in all great time! |

| Great time indeed. $1 waters and $6 500ml beers were just nuts. Agreed on the BO man some people could have really used a good axe dousing. |

Was gonna go to this and see my regular party ppl, but I had an xmas house party to attend. I blacked out too. First time in over a year... was not happy with myself... I thought my university residence days were over :/ It was pretty ing horrible this morning, that's all I'm gonna say.
Not again lemme tell you. Glad to hear this party delivered though :) |

This and this. I was convinced that the BO smell was just the lingering smell of food. Guess not. lol |

Had a decent night out. First time going to a BOK party, 2nd for Breakandenter.
I loved the venue. The room was cube shaped (high-ceilings) and somewhat reminisced of Stereo's old layout. Size wise, it is probably close to Orange room at Guv.
The sound system was excellent. Sounded the best when Gibbs/Kidd where playing at the beginning. I think the sound got turned down a notch afterwards...or perhaps just got absorbed by the crowd as the place filled up.
Musically, I found it to be up and down throughout the night. Loved the opening set by Gibbs followed by Jamie Kidd. Then it slowed down when I believe Fazekas came on.
At some point, the music became harder. I hear that set was from Fabio Palermo. loved it.
After, If i recall right, Gibbs got back on....and played some breaks like music...wasnt my cup of tea.
Around 4ish, Hali got back on and laid down some proper techno again. Stood at the front and watched him do his magic.
Left around 4:30 has Jamie started winding things down.
Sound: 9/10
Music: 7/10
Crowd: 7/10 (salami/BO in many spots!). Very diverse crowd. Old schools, youngins, humpers, hippies, hipsters, dressed up ones, asian hello kitties
To another 4 years for both BOK and Breakandenter! |
