Hi guys, I'm new to the forums but are looking for some answers.
I am wondering where I can start in the wonderful world of dj'ing and producing tracks. I have plenty of ideas but have scoured the internet looking for information but can only find bits and pieces which dont complete the big picture for me.
I am totally new to anything technical, using hardware to mix and produce. I don't believe I am naive though, but just looking for some help.
What sort of gear should I be looking at to start mixing my favourite tracks, I dont have the biggest intentions to start producing for a long while but to simply get a feel mixing different songs and creating something I can be proud of.
I've been looking at a Behringer BCD3000, partly due to it being cheap (may be crap but I'm not looking at anything fancy at the moment, just something to start), and partly because it seems to have everything I need at the moment, being new and all.
Coupling a BCD3000 with traktor I believe I can start making mixes and that's really all I want to do.
Does this sound like a reasonable idea to anyone out there or should I be looking in a completely different direction? Any advice is helpful. Not looking to spend a fortune either.
Thanks all, hope it wasn't too long. |
