Primeloops are garbage, to be honest.
Not worth the money.
There are better places to shop for loops. |

That's all you had to say, for s sake. Seriously, just stop. You're more of a jaded troll with each passing day.
Ravan - I'd go with Wav. Good format and easily transferable, future proof if you will. |
I quite like some of the writings of from EZ. This one had me laughing. :) |

Good luck with the drugs too! That being said wav sounds like a plan - will work no matter where. still wondering why live packs are so much smaller than any other format.
ahh. .they are flac compressed. makes sense. |
By "Live Pack" format do they mean an Ableton Live Project? If so, that will also contain all of the .wav files, it will also just contain a .alp that has them grouped together in a fairly useless way.
The best recent pack I've seen was the Atmospheric Techno one released by Spektre on Loopmasters, where you have all the .wavs in a decent folder structure, then on top of that some Sampler presets that set them all up within sampler as different drumkit/fx presets. |

make sure it has REX2. Wav and REX 2 ideally. Unless live pack is a similar thing like REX2 and mimics what STYLUS does, then I would go with live. But if it is the same price, REX2 and WAV multiformat. |

you have to buy each format.. which is annoying.
live is pretty good at slicing and stretching audio to any tempo (warping) so went with wav.
theres is a specific format called live packs which, as i understand it, is almost like a reason refill.. |

is rex2 ( i used to play with reason and recycle, so know it a bit) usable in general? also for atmosphere type sounds etc? |

it is for STYLUS, which is the best tool for loops period. It already includes the slices imbedded in the meta data. Stylus makes every loop either a loop or a collection of 1 shoots, easy to change the loop so you can't recognize it, adjust the timing , everything.
If you aren't using stylus with your loops, you are missing out. |

$300 for a loop slicer is a little much, no? Plus, Spectrasonics has the WORST support system ever. |

Stylus is one of the plugins of the decade. Anyone will tell you that. No other program can do what it does with such ease. No other program even comes close. If you don't have stylus, and you are using loops, you are an idiot. It really is that simple. Stylus has the worst customer service ? Are you on crack ? There was that one issue with mac and trilogy bass. Everything else has been smooth sailing. All their products are 64 bit, they all work flawlessly, and their customer service , god knows why you would have to use it is ridiculously
good. To the point where you ask a stupid question and they will be the ones hounding you until it is working.
that is the whole point of stylus. It makes loops about 100x more useful. You are no longer bound by the loop. You can change everything. To do this in Kontakt is a chore, any other sampler is just as tedious. Stylus is extremely powerful if you know how to use it. If you haven't used it as i'm thinking is the situation here, then you are misinformed and missing out.
People ask why no stylus 2. The whole point is that you can add what ever you want to it. The plugin has been around for almost a decade it seems and it is just as relevant and useful. There is no other VI being used to that extent for that long. none. So 400 $ for a tool that has lasted 10 years and is still the most useful tool for what you want to do. How is that not worth 400$.I'm not exaggerating. If was released in 2001. The same product. Everything else has been FREE improvements.
In fact if there was like a hall of fame
stylus
