| Like... i used it last year and let it sit there for 8 months until i used it last night -- is that gross or should i just carry on? |

| No. As a chapstick aficionado (addict :( ) I can say this item is perfectly safe and clean. Assuming the cap was on. |

Depends what kind of lip balm it is. Whatever oils are in there will eventually go rancid over time, assuming it has Vitamin E in (which acts as a preservative), extends its shelf life quite a bit.
Just buy a new one you cheap . |
