dub techno by Alan Fitzpatrick

really i just love when a non-typical dub techno producer comes up with something like this
Redd
going to see fitzpatrick spin tomorrow, do you know what he plays?
ripped
just recentrly he had an essential mix

here's link
http://www.filesonic.com/file/34348...2011-TALiON.rar

tracklist
http://mixesdb.com/db/index.php/201...-_Essential_Mix

mostly tech house and quite banging I'd say

what time will he play? I bet he's the main act

and here's one more example of Alan's not-for-dancefloor tunes
Redd
Thanks for the set. Yeah he's the main act. Looking forward to it :)

would be great if you could provide a brief review of the night and especially Alan's set

I'm really interested and what's the venue, by the way?
Redd
I'll try to write a review if I'm up for it. It's a tiny venue, a small club/cafe, so should be good.

Come on, man. There's an EP by dub techno producer Gradient called "Cold Season". The only difference between The Coldest Season and the legions of snow/winter themed dub techno tracks or dub techno tracks with cold and desolate atmospheres that have been released in the last few years is that Echospace are much better producers. If you haven't found any such tracks, you just aren't searching very hard or your dub fanboy leanings are exaggerating microscopic differences in extremely basic tracks.

And yes, I know The Coldest Season did not invent winter-themed dub techno and in many respects is a homage to the Basic Channel ambient dub techno sound, but it was the first big dub techno album in a while and certainly seemed to inspire a lot of indentikit imitators. And yes, I know the big names have plenty of variety, but dub techno is not just BC, Monolake, Yagya, DeepChord et al. It's also hundreds of imitators on smaller labels, and most of them don't have any of the talent of these guys and just imitate their ideas.

Isn't that true for almost every sub genre?
-FSP-
come on guys, this is tranceaddict, not residentadvisor addict.

With that said:

Scuba - MARS
Conforce - Escapism
Octave One - I Believe (Sandwell District Remix)
Mathew Jonson - Learning to fly (original mix)
Steffi feat Virginia - Yours
Claude Von Stroke - Whos Afraid of Detroit (Munni Brotherz 2011 rework)

I have more but those come to mind.

Yes. I don't think these Russian guys (the stuff is pretty decent, really - not genius though) are necessarily ripping off Echospace, but either way I don't think more than like 40-50% of Dubtech coming out is winter themed.

My point was that there are small guys imitating the big guys in any subgenre genre with a specific sound - I could also claim 90% of Deephouse is just ripping off Moodymann or 90% of classic Dubstep is just ripping of DMZ.

Regarding Deepchord - looking at Rawbound's picks I realised that I actually forgot Hash Bar Loops in my list. Probably because it's such a summer themed album that I haven't listened to it all in the last months.
