I'm getting a weird bug with the 'store/compare' function and wondering if it's just my machine or what. I'm using a B desktop OS ver 09.01.04.049 In MULTI SINGLE mode. I have the voice part set to Output 2 L+R. When you save your changes you can pull up the 'compare' function by hitting 'store' then either 'control' or 'edit' to A/B your changes to the original. You can also use this to preview the voice you're planning to write over.

So, when I'm ready to save and activate the compare function, and I change banks and scroll to a voice I intend to overwrite, it will glitch out all of a sudden and the selection will default to voice 'A0' and also reset the output of the part I'm editing to Output 1 L+R (I don't use this output for anything) When this happens the voice also reverts back to it's original state, losing any changes.

This should be an easy enough bug to replicate and should only take a second.. I should also mention it still does the same thing even with the out set to Output 1 L+R. Even if you've got a newer machine just please give it a try and let me know if the compare function works properly. There might be an OS patch or something available but google failed me on this (every time I google stuff about this synth I just end up with results about hepatitis)

Is that the latest available OS?

I'm on the TI2, which is obviously a different OS, but I tried it last night and couldn't replicate it. There's got to be a Virus B owner around here somewhere, though.

I'm not sure, I just checked on the Access website and there's a version 4.9 available for download but you need to create an account to get it. I guess I'll do that when I get home. I'm willing to bet this bug is exclusive to the B.

Wow they are actually asking for my full name, address and serial number of the machine in order to download the OS update, what kind of is that

make people with stolen stuff as uncomfortable as possible. And i'm sure the marketing department does not mind.

it's been like that since I had my first virus (b). So about 10yrs. It makes sense you want to know who your clients are. Even if the client opposes :p

My Virus B doesn't produce this problem. OS 4.9 is the last one for the B, has it cured the issue?
