I recently got the 2x12" with the supposed 'Vandit Mix' on one of the discs, but it sounds nothing like the version Paul plays in his live sets or the one featured on disc 2 of the CD version of Out There and Back...
Can anybody clarify this for me? I feel I just wasted 12 bucks getting this 2x12". I really wanted the version Paul plays in his sets. |

Hello,
Paul plays the Vandit Mix Re-Edit which is featured on the 'Out There and Back 4x12" LP'.
the Vandit Mix on the single (2x12) was the first one he made which is more progressive and kinda boring.

the 'Vandit mix' can be obtained on the Deviant/Vandit UK release of Tell Me Why.. disc 1 with 'Club mix' & 'Club dub' on the other side. you do not need to purchase a 2x12" nor a 4x12" album just for this one track, but i strongly recommend that you purchase the album in any case.
the Vandit mix & Vandit mix re - edit are the same tracks but the re-edit has a shorter intro. it is no different and one version is not 'proggy' or whatever. |

listen to Tell Me Why (The Riddle) CDM, track02, then listen to Out There and Back CD2, Track10. After you have taken a listen, come back here and tell me they`re the same.

yes i am quite familiar with both tracks thanks,
vandit mix is longer with longer buildup but once it gets to the break
the vandit re edit is the same, and the only difference in the vandit edit is the altered riff at beginning and altered intro which gets to the break quicker than in the Vandit mix. |

Vandit mix is easily the best for a club track,
but 'Paul van Dyk remix' is my personal fave. |
