I was a fan of the Utopia and Absolute Reality remixes. Not so much the new stuff lol.

This is a solid track. Also enjoyed his remix of That One Moment.

Oh man, Absolute Reality is too epic. Such an amazing track.

This was his breakthrough tune. One of my favorite.

You bet wrong, I have and I would ;) In either case, being cool doesn't make you a good artist.... and being a good artist doesn't give you a good personality either. I differentiate the two completely. There are some artists I like because they are nice and still it won't make me care for their music... and other artists release good music but they still may be pricks.

Interested, but I must ask... does be actually play good music? His older tracks were pretty good, but Around the World and Kate and all this other new he's been putting out is just bloody awful.

I feel this happens to a lot of artists. They first come out and they release strong productions because they want to get noticed and then once they have signed with someone quality keeps diminishing and there are a few reasons for it. Some are put under pressure by the label telling them they need to release a minumum # of tracks by a certain date so obviously they cant spend as much time on any one given release and they churn out cookie cutter trance every few weeks or so and other reasons may be...the fame gets to their heads and they feel like they have "made it" so now it doesn't matter what they do, their fans are gonna like it anyway right? WRONG! :disbelief

Yeah, you hit the nail on the head. Especially, like I said before, with Anjunabeats artists.

Interesting points but one thing I disagree with you is on the labels. Many people have an incorrect notion that the labels keep a very tight hold on the artists. It's quite the opposite. I've found the artists keep the pressure on themselves to keep producing "hits". All these guys play a few high profile events and give a try at making a poppy sounding dance tune. Lo and behold, that usually goes right to the top of the charts. They become addicted to that feeling of success and the gigs and high profile virality of it all. They buy into it and they compromise their sound. The label only plays a small role in those series of events, but never to point of dictating what artists should produce.

Also, I've never had to sign an agreement stipulating regular deadlines or a certain number of tracks, and I'm not sure of anyone who has.

I believe this. So, that begs the question then: What kind of set will Arty play?

I want to hear the real Arty. Not a TATW highlight reel. These are my favorites:

I actually think that is a good set (from the tacklisting posted above) has some house/prog and trance...

I def won't be going if that's the kind of tracklist to expect. didn't anyone here see him play at ezoo this year? I'll have to look up some of his recent sets cause I'm not trekking to hear him play some typical stuff like that. I have some of his earlier sets which were great.

I like all the vids above, with the exception of mozart & zara. all these tracks, the alpha 9 ones, trapeze, utopia, absolute reality remixes are the reasons why I considered arty my fav trance producer of 2010, those are just quality tracks. I personally think it's just a situation of him running out of creative juice..he doesn't have it in him anymore to make tracks as good as those, that's maybe all he had in him lol. but at least he gave us some good stuff. like this, my fav.
