Yes people meet DJs. Doesn't make them their best friends though - and BTW - I'm from the UK too and I know how easy it is to meet DJs, I've 'met' loads, couldn't tell you all about their work though!!! The amount of times Paul van Dyk has said 'Yes - this is my track' or 'No - it's an un named white label' and the information turns out to be the TOTAL opposite.
But based on whatever sketchy info people get from DJs seems to be considered 'inside information' given to only the priviledged - but it's not!

Hello Jarv,
I understand what you`re saying. no problem with you.
I was on holidays till yesterday. that was the reason why you didn`t see me in the past 3 weeks.
hope everything is okay.
many greetings,

I'm trying to figure out why people from the U.S. talk like they are european, or from another country. What exactly is "on holidays" mean? I wasn't aware of any holiday in the last three weeks. Please clear this up for me if you could. Thanks.
Many Greetings,

You know, at the end of Chicago show that PvD did, he stopped signing autographs and handed me the pen, we're like practically family now!
And along the lines of this forum, I'm sick of meeting people, and they claim to BE DJ's. I don't know if anyone else runs into it, but it seems like any time I venture into the suburbs, I meet some guy who had his mummy and daddy buy him a set of gemini's and now he thinks he's Oaky. Of course, this could just be me, but I can think of at least 5 times it's happened to me. |

I'm still trying to figure out just when it was that DJs all of a sudden gained status somewhere between superstars and gods.
It doesn't seem like that long ago that there were just a handful (comparativly) of DJs and this superstar status was unheard of. but I can't quite figure out what it was in musical history that made everybody and their brother want to be a DJ not to mention giving some of them godlike status. |
