Hey there yall, I'm positive that everyone here has seen this topic more than once. But, I am at a loss. I am a semi-professional DJ. I have for the last four years have been DJing with mouse only. For this Holiday I received some great equipment from my father, who happens to be a locally well known musician. It's a great gift because it frees me to do more than pre-mixing before gigs and just syncopated-cross fading.
I am well known for playing well... very poppy-symphonic tracks. I love the sound of synth strings, and because it makes it easier to wiggle butts to, so do most of my audience. Despite sounding agreeable to most, its hard to find! Most of the time when I find a great track its from another DJ, or video, sometimes on RadioSeven.
Here's the thing: I don't know of anywhere to discover said music in a more direct way. What I usually do is kind of grey... Ill torrent big trance collections and pick the tracks out I want to play, track down the artist website and buy that track. The rest are immediately removed from my system.
I'm looking for more sources like: Clubland Xtreme Hardcore. Since there is no real definition of "hardcore" trance, my question is; is there anywhere for me to regularly find this breed of trance that sounds a little closer to mainstream to get people dancing?
I sometimes audition for gigs at popular art conventions, so it really helps to step away from standard rave... which is boring to a lot of people who are not rolling... Not to say I dont love it, but help finding such tracks would be appreciated. I will link to Clubland X-treme 2012 samples below.
In 'my' days we called it 'Happy Hardcore'. Despite it's cheesy as hell I still like the combination of those vocals and harder beats.

It's still popular under German and Dutch youngsters.

This is Happy Hardcore. I wouldn't call it mainstream and I can't see people listening to this at art shows. But if this is what your looking for, check out the "happy 2b hardcore" series or listen to the hardcore channel on digitally imported radio and buy the tracks that you like.
