| So I'm interested in hearing if anyone got any new gear for Christmas. I got a new M-Audio 49 Key Midi Keyboard + Pro Tools. What did you get? |

I have a fair Christmas story to share. I was using a purchased Reason 6 for my productions the last few months.
2 weeks later my Access Virus arrives and I realise the only way to get the most out of it is to use a VST enabled DAW, aside from that I was getting pressure from one or two of my knowledgable mates that if I want to make some serious tunes, VST and a good synth to build on like the Virus is the way forward.
So after twiddling with Cubase 6 Elements trial and my Virus with its VST integration, I realise going back to Reason is futile, and no way in hell am I going to rewire Reason into Cubase and produce music like that!
So I decide to put in up ad for my copy of Reason 6, the same day some dude is interested, and offers me just enough money for it so I can buy a copy of Cubase 6 Artist!
Now that was a sweet little swap wouldn't you say? Not really new gear but hey I guess a new DAW counts just as much :happy2:
Anyway that is my cool Christmas story, hope you enjoyed it, bro's. |

Oh yeah forgot to mention I have also ordered myself a copy of Battery 3 from NI. Seems like a really good sampler/groove making device.
Only crap thing now is I have to wait for it in the post to SA, so using Cubase's Groove Agent one now and their limited sample packs. |

| NI Traktor Kontrol S2. Im so psyched to explore the possibilities of using it in my productions. If I can DJ very well with a Oxygen 25 key (mk1 lol) then I bet I could produce awesomely on some dj-gear. Awwwwwwyeeeah |

My Christmas was all about the iPad. But, I also got my son a djembe and a tambourine to add to the percussion collection.

bought back a Slim Phatty after I sold my previous one (BIG mistake)
Bought back a Voyager RME, after I sold my Electric Blue, again BIG mistake soundwise, but i prefer rack formfactor where possible in my studio
on top of that:

REFX came through with a nice update of NEXUS x64> ThnX REFX
D16 is about to release thier 64bit verisons > ThnX D16
Steinberg released Wavelab 7 x64 > ThnX Steinberg
Good value out of my previous software purchases :D |
