I was sitting in a restaurant today at the bar waiting for my pizza take away order to arrive when I noticed the restaurant had KRK 8 Rokit monitors for their speakers for the sound system.

Crazy?? or is there any method in this madness??

In soviet russia when ordering pizza, monitors hear you.

Steal them. Problem solved-

chill man its not like they had a pair of adams or something out there. factoring not buying a proper amp for the system and separate speakers, it makes some sense, whats the big deal?

I fail to see the problem :conf:

Too many hard surfaces in a bar for those monitors to be any good, there.

I was just under the impression monitors were designed to highlight all the crap sounds in your mix/tunes, so why put them in a bar in a restaurant lol

I guess the bar is the best place, thats where the listeners are the least fussy :tongue3

My guess is that they use them to make the pizza mixes cheesier.

The Rokit series are primarily DJ monitors, not studio monitors so it's not quite the same thing. I have the same ones for my DJ setup and they would be fine as Hi-fi speakers in a large room.

Well according to KRK, they are studio monitors for people on smaller budgets, says nothing about being DJ or monitors for live music. But I guess if they do the job they do the job :tongue2

Well that depends on whether you want to believe marketing hype from the company or people who actually have those speakers, and can compare them to their proper studio monitors. I have the Dynaudio Bm5a by the way, they make the Rokits sounds like they were made in a shed with recycled materials.

Well considering the Rokits are the bottom of the range of the KRK series that makes sense.
