The first two Abdulla Rashim records were some of the best dark Techno this year but when the guy starts to put mad acid in his tracks like in this live set, gets absolutely bonkers. Now, I am no expert on classic Trance but I think this something that fans of that type of Trance could enjoy - if you like some banging, repetitive beats and percussion with lots of dark atmosphere and some mad acid on top of that I think you'll enjoy this. Tune in around 23 minutes if you're lazy and want to know how banging it gets.
I coulda seen this set live earlier in december but I missed it :(
But he plays at Berghain in february and If I make it to that it's going to be insane.

Wow, that was some of the most pedestrian-paced techno I've heard in my life. On what planet is this considered "banging", "bonkers" and "mad acid"? It sure as hell isn't on the same planet that saw the creation of acid like this:
Otherwise, the set sounded like an hour of lazily rehashed Plastikman- and Emmanuel Top-loops from about fifteen years ago. If mad banging acid in 2012 is what you're after, these guys have it: http://www.zodiakcommune.com/

I think you slightly misunderstood my post. I wasn't trying to claim that I found the hardest/most banging acid tracks I've ever heard I just think the acid fits in really well with the rest of the composition.
And aren't you sort of a fan of 90s (obviously much faster) Techno anyways?

No, you definitely used the words "mad", "banging" and "absolutely bonkers" to describe this set, and it's definitely extremely boring.

I'm a big fan of classic trance but this set is way too dull. Some tracks have potential and probably works good on a big sound system in a nice small club. But at home it sounds way too stiff.
And honestly there isn't that much of variation in the set.

Not really much to add to the above except this:

lol, sorry but OP set is Techno for elevators and track @ 23 mins is about as banging as hitting a quarter-inflated plastic bag with a broken spatula. Nevermind the fact that he runs what sounds like a rehashed Plastikman bassline for about 20 mins straight.
If you're going to do subtle tension, do it right:

What are the origins of acid techno? Was it during the pre-European movement?
corjay9
its minimal as hell from the quick scrolling I've done, gonna listen proper tomorrow. Elevator techno, I like it.

Usually that question tends to be answered with this:
Rumour has it they got that particular acid sound accidentally when trying to figure out the Roland TB-303 as early as 1985. If my memory serves me right they (DJ Pierre and DJ Spanky) were based out of Chicago
