I have noticed I'm not alone when it comes to a creative block lately, at least that is my perception. As this is a music production forum I've been thinking about a thread that will make people actually produce some music instead of just talking and flaming each other.
This is what I've come up with. Make a track that is no longer than 8 bars (nobody will kill you if it gets a little bit longer but keep it short). The only synth that is allowed is Synth1 and you have to make every preset from scratch. Even if you have presets that you've made yourself, don't use em, get creative.
Use as few sounds as possible and don't try to make anything to advanced or fancy, just make the ing track. The only samples allowed is drum samples (and exported tracks from the song itself). Lets keep it oldschool and don't use any effects except those built in Synth1.
I have already begun, and I promise you, the song will suck big time, but that doesn't matter. I want to see what I can come up with under those minimal circumstances and if nothing else maybe I at least can make someone laugh at me.
If you think this is a bad idea, shut up and let the thread die, if you like it then show us what you got.

I'm TRYING to be creative today.. I broke out the mic, sung a little bar, put together a chord progression, and a little bit of a melody and out came this.. Crazy..
don't use any effects except those built in Synth1.
what about compressors or stereo imaging plugins?
