"Having DJed since 1990 and travelled all over the world, I’ve seen various countries change over the years, and what is predominant in that change is that the clubs themselves are marketing themselves, and their music policies, and the DJs, to what the UK does. You could stand in a club in Tokyo, in Montreal, in New York, or Singapore, or even Sydney, close your eyes and without knowing what is going on, you could be in a club in England. I do think that they do try to emulate what goes on in the UK, which is a good thing . . .

The dance scene has a worldwide identity. I really believe that dance music is a world phenomenon, and we are all dancing to the same beat, but in different countries."

real talk. new york is incredibly underrated on this site. I bet 95% of knicks on this site don't even know good music from their own turf.

I much prefer the output from Detroit and Chicago, but all 3 cities had some crossovers in terms of influence. I still like Garage, just not as much as the jack from the Midwest.

believe it or not, there was a time when Montreal had more techno bookings than Detroit or any other North American city. There was no influence though, only popularity.
