I think the below interview is incredible and there is much to be learned from the legendary pete tong- he gives great insight on how the whole live dj vs live act came about.. Especially when it comes to the dj vs producer debate.
I admit that in order to be a break through dj, one must produce. But the entire notion that producing is a means to and end is senseless. Even pete states that he has massive respect for a producer as he does for a wedding dj...
Just as I have posted earlier, cats post all of face book when pete thong breaks out their tracks on his bbc radio show.... little do they realize that a DJ IS MAKING THEM....

Yea funny.... but he says he is doing it in reverse as he has been a radio dj all his career and now starting to produce cause its fun- not for notoriety.
