sylenth1 and massive

Hey guys,

ive been messing around with sylenth1 and massive lately and have noticed a few things about each synth that I wish to clarify.

first off, sylenth1. I havent had sylenth for very long and last night decided to make a few supersaw leads to see how id go with it. Is it just me or does its overall volume drop when the filter is totally open at maximum, I could swear that there seems to be a sweet spot at around 3 quarters up on the filter knob (the large one) where sylenth sounds fuller and louder. I checked to see if there were any other possible causes but the volumes, etc, of all the osc were at maximum, filter parameters seemed to be set correctly from what I could tell. Strange, im curious to know if anyone has experienced/noticed the same thing.

Now to massive. Again, was creating some supersaw leads utilizing 3 osc's, the usual detuning, spread, etc done from the "voices" and "osc" tab sections, unison voices was set to 8 and polyphony to 32. I was playing 3 note chords while tweeking the sound and noticed that massive was very quickly running out of polyphony, even at 64 notes of polyphony it was periodically cutting of the tail end of notes/chords as if you shortened the release time of the amp env. I had the release set a little past half way to give it a bit of decay. Of course turning off one of the osc helps but I really like the sound better with all 3 going. And at 64 voices cpu went up a fair bit too.
Something im doing wrong, any suggestions?

cheers,
Beatflux
Did you start from Int patch for S1?
madmuso
yeah, I initialized a patch on S1 and started from there.
Subtle
The big filter knob on Sylenth is relative to how the other filters knobs are set or routed, maybe check that out..
madmuso
hmmm, checked the routing and stuff, all seems to be ok, I will keep investigating and let ya know how i go.

Now what about Massive, is this just a polyphony issue I guess?
64 notes is the highest it goes yeah? Guess I will have to ditch one of the osc's. :-(
