Domesty - Lunarscape (Original Mix) [Uplifting Trance]
View this Thread in Original format

Hey tranceaddict!

Here is my latest outcome. I think it's pretty decent. There is some flaws (especially the OPENING SAMPLE, dblue glitch did something weird), which played differently in DAW, but in render sounded odd. I simply left them there because the rendering process took a year, and the rest of the track played great.

I would be glad if you could tell me your toughts about this tune! (=

I'm listening and typing at the same time lol - sweet and cool idea you have going on in your production, like this overall warm and Summery felling which this track brings/impose on me, really nice concept.

The only suggestion I could give you is to work on your dynamics level in this WIP, will increase/enhance this energy and improve your groove/riff and at the same time listener experience.

Overall you are at right place (for me) with this short preview.

Good luck with the rest and let us know when is ready.

Cheers,

Darek

Yeah, already added few more elemnts that carries on the overall feeling of this track. Glad you kinda liked it (= I'm trying to use ALL the headroom and stereospace of my pads and sweeps and my reverbs.

Afterall this is my style. I love making this kind of dreamy trance :D

One more thing, right from the beginning I would use filter on this kick so is not getting into your face from the start, smooth transition to full sound/freq would give this track a nice growing tension.

Yeah. I already did that. I just had done the filtering in my previous training projects many times so I tried something different for the intro of this track, but yet havent figured anything else out so I added it :D

BUT

Here is a portion of the main part, tried to tweak some thing here or there still anything isn't final. Can you give me another look of this? The mix is kinda messy, but i just kinda pre processed it trough preset master. I got pretty turned down by the melody. I had VERY different lead part, but i had different baseline then and when i rewrited my baseline to fit in the mix i just couldnt carry that lead anymore so i came up whit this what do you think (It has more to offer than this, its just a little sample).

Yeah, lets see, try to use what I did in this track below (sorry for spamming you thread with my song but this would be much easier for me just to point you to the right time) --> check this swiping lead at 2:19, you could do that every two bars and slowly transition to something different (lead), you simply taking attention from one particular instrument (sound) and transition to another ---> don't know if this is what you are looking for but we will try to figure it out.

Cheers,

Darek

Yeah I know what you mean. And no trouble spamming tracks! Do what you got to do (; BUT yeah i know the trick. The thing is that this mix is full and i kinda tried to max out stereospace whit current instruments so its really hard to blend even more things to this mix, afterall its not a "track" its a "training project". In time ill figure it out (:

Thanks for the advice though!

There is so many different ways to achieve this, maybe do a big sweep, maybe use some FX to help you with small drop or progressively turn/cut some sounds of to create extra room in your track --> be innovative, unorthodox, different, use something different the usual, stay open minded and something will work out for you, I believe!!!!

Hey again! (: Im not trying to punch this thread up, but would you give my new version a look. Its almost a demo.

Opening sample is somehow broken, and the vocal cut reverb at the last part, where piano riff plays is off put i just landed them there (will rework them tomorrow). In the main chorus the multi delay (stabby like synth) has too much decay but all these are in control.

Will need to compress it somehow. I think its kinda to wide. Any mastering tips? I'll try to finish this tomorrow and i hope u give it another look (=

ps. Im hitting almost my cpu peak... laptops T_T

Your full frq kick should start at around 0:14sec but I like how you filter it, well done (sorry listening and typing at the same time, that way I can quickly capture some thoughts).

Damn it, really like this production for so many reasons but something doesn't sound right and I can't put my hands around it ???????

Overall sound is really bright, will require some future massaging/adjustment(EQ) - freaking nightmare lol, really like your melodic progression but something is really blocking/compressing this sound too much and doesn't sound as good as should. Maybe try to balance your sounds a bit more, this/those plucks sound my cause this, I think is also a bit to loud and pushed everything else to the back causing this overall brightness.

I just release that I'm on different headphones right now, semi-open one (AKG K240 Studio and they are more flatter then my fully close one) I use sometimes, that may add to my problem lol lol lol.

Will try later and see if I can figure it out better then now.

Cheers,

Darek

I'm listening to this on different headphones and doesn't sound as bright as on AKG anymore but I think you still have few sounds with the same (or very close) freq spectrum which (this combination) makes it sound a bit to bright or busy in specific sound freq, if you know what I mean lol.

Cheers and I hope that I was able to help you or maybe someone else will have different perspective/opinion on this.

Haha, I just found out i uploaded my double compression pre master (I have different sections compressed). ;D it really feels compressed and dull. I renderd 2 versions just to see the difference but it didnt stand out so great :D

I get it. My mix is pretty messy and i have maybe expanded too much high end. But my main problem is that i tend to stuff my tunes too full. These are pretty hard to mix together, so on my skill level there is clashes :(

Problem is i dont have monitors at all. Just some lame logitech crap and senheiser HD555 :D so they arent as accurate as they can be but it aint the main problem.

On my next project i try to consentrate on fewer instruments and make more fx like instruments.

Thank you! This kind of constructive feedback is really needed at my level! Thanks for your time once again!
