i still wouldnt call it 100% mainstream just yet
i feel it's close, def past the half way point, but not exactly accepted by everyone. within 5 years i think the take over will be complete :D
at least for artists like guetta, tiesto, deadmau5, shm, |

| I think EDM can take even one more step beyond that where top producers start getting featured before the vocalists like Beyonce and Rihanna in the top charts then I'll say that it has taken over. It's basically already there with Guetta. |

you only have to look at what has dominated the pop charts over the past year for this to be bull dude. just like Rhianna and gaga draw heavily on electronic music (even if it is .) and they sell way more records than anyone you mentioned. that really annoying Chris brown and benassi track has been blaring from Honda civics across the province for months. Hip hop is raping electronic samples. Crap like skrillex is finding it's way into rotations of all rock radio stations.
It's been a while too, probably really cemented when Kanye and will.I.am made some very popular plagiarism.
Seriously dude, go to billboard and check the sales charts from the last 2 years. The mainstream is already on it.Jersey Shore Nation is upon us like the mayans predicted. |

| lmfao sold out very quickly. not metropolis, bell center. you can't say getting a sellout of 16 year olds in American apparel is not mainstream. |

Its not selling out if you do that style from the beginning. They were doing their own thing electro hiphop club garbage, but it was their style, not selling out at all, they were always ty pop electro, good for them that the world caught onto their sound. |

| this is true though. they always stayed true to their garbage electro sound. it's not like they pulled a tiesto and went all SHM (not that there's anything wrong w that!) |
