Questions about DJ Tiesto - Magik 6 and 7

1. I heard that there are 2 versions of these: One is the recordings from the performances, and the other releases are "studio" versions that have the same tracks, in the same order as the live versions but, played again. Is this True?
2. Were these broadcasted anywhere?
3. Why weren't these titled "Magik 6: Live at Wildlife on (DATE OF PERFORMANCE)" and Magik 7: Live at Mayan Theater on the (DATE OF PERFORMANCE)" and include the dates or something?
4. Were any of these sets cut to fit onto CD? I mean, were they originally longer or were they just 76-77 minutes each? It seems weird to have a sign showing: DJ Tiesto: 23rd of April, 2000: From 20:00 to 21:20: DJ TIESTO!!! Isn't 80 minutes a bit too short for a live set?
Thanks if you can answer all of these!

I'm sure the sets were longer, like you said...doesn't make sense to play an 70-80 min set. Mmmm...more Magik 6, I can't get enough of that CD.

I don't know about Magik 7, but I've heard from someone who was there at the Wildlife party that Tiesto actually did fade out during Cloudwalking and end his set there. Oh well...

That would be pretty dope to say you were actually there. I think it's fine that he just played for the 76 min(or however long the set was). That means he didn't have to get the crowd warmed up before he dropped Fratty Boy to start.

I thought Magik 6 was Live in Amsterdam and Magik 7 was Live in Los Angeles? Well thats what i have.

1: As far as I know, there aren't two versions.

2: Why would it be broadcasted? Buy the CD to hear the liveset. Tiesto and Blackhole would lose out bigtime because instead of buying the CD, ppl would just download the liveset!!!!

3: Who cares about the party, it's the city thats important. This isn't internet livesets where they're catelogued in Club, Date etc. It's an album. DJ Tiesto - Live at Amsterdam, all the info you need :) Just like the Global Underground CDs. The first GU cds WERE recorded live, and were titled "Live in Prague" and nothing else.

4: The crowd knows they're going to hear the live recording of a CD, so they know the set length would be short.

they did cut stuff out of magik 7 for sure, takea listen to push - strange world 2000 remake, its like 2 minutes long, and the breaks are cut out, i was thinking out of all the songs, they gotta cut that one down, sucked, anyways

then i also have question.
i just cant understand why he fades out after 76 minutes, during cloudwalking cause now the best part of that track is missing, if he played it for another 3 minutes he would have the part on the cd which imo was surely better.

It was 77 minutes... And it would've been possible to include the extra 3 minutes too! Because CDs have a capacity of 80 minutes (formerly 74 minutes) (I even saw a classical CD at Tower records before that had a total time of 80 minutes, 9 seconds!), I KNOW that this could've been done! [EDIT: 2002-08-30 16:45 UTC - Removed false statement (I thought it was true until I listened to it again, he DID fade it out...)]
