Aly and Fila, with favorite resident Victor Dinaire.

Spin is the best venue in SD. Can't wait.

that may be true, unfortunately its not the best venue in the gaslamp district.

Not sure about both being there, I remember reading something about Aly (or was it Fila?) not being able to attend gigs due to ear problems.

I wish Giant would come back to Spin...

very aware of aly's situation, so I asked in the LA event thread for the TRUTH and the exchange guy said they would both be there. so no reason why they both wouldnt also be in sd.

giant back at spin? how about giant back in san diego :D
never been to spin, tempted a couple times when eventvibe was working with them but the location just isnt as convenient as being on one of the avenues or broadway street.

Indeed... tbh I really miss the Belo shows Giant used to put on and its a shame they haven't come back to SD in any capacity since the Spin fallout.

Tes. Though I think this is a shame man. Spin is by far the best club in San Diego for clubbing. The lack of snobby attitudes that make up so much of the Downtown crowd is worth its location alone. I'm over the pushy mentality of people at venues like Voyeur, On Broadway, etc. I haven't been to Fluxx but have zero active desire to go.. Thursday and Sunday shows aren't happening when you have a 9 to 5 and try to DJ in this town. You really ought to give Spin a chance mate, unless you like to bounce around clubs I don't get what's bad about Spin. Free parking, good vibes, good talent and a nice staff.

this. I stay in the gaslamp when i come to SD, and i do drink, so free parking isnt really a pro. plus oftentimes we take the train down.
plus being able to bounce around is nice, in/out FTW!

thus my statement about the location. there is this plot of land across from stingaree next to the solamar hotel, any chance to airlift spin and plop it in there? get the chinese on it, they can make anything happen!

Spin is worth the extra cab fare. It's got that underground warehouse vibe that you can't get from a club in the middle of downtown.

Looking forward to this one!

If they booked some of my faves when I was down there id be all for it. Closest recently was edc weekend 2009. Svd played spin and lee burridge was at obec, but the sf and sd ta homies were going to burrdge. That was fun, andrieaux, nerologic, kingoftheknight and myself wound up getting bottle service followed by after hour set by lee at keating ;-)
