I was a big of a G&D fan as anybody back in the day, I must have seen Dave alone 8 or so times in just the last few years. But their re-union is a ing joke. It's all dub step and dutch house remixes of their classics, terrible mixing, cutting the music to let the kiddies scream songs that were written while they were in diapers. I've seen them twice since their reunion and it makes baby Jesus cry.
and what's this about ty techno [sp] :whip:
agreed.
I actually enjoyed their Zoo set because it was new and fun and I was just excited to see them. I liked the mashups at first listen. Then I saw them at Fur in DC and it was the exact same set. Then I downloaded 2 or 3 other recent sets and it was the exact same set. And it sunk in that they are just jumping on the electro house bandwagon and trying to follow instead of lead. And that's not who G&D are, they were never followers.
If you've seen G&D in the past year and change since they got back together, don't bother going to Pacha. It'll be exactly the same, give or take a couple of tracks. My boyfriend wants to go because he hasn't given up but I am extremely cynical at this point. I don't feel like waving my hands around to butchered classics all night.

I saw them this past weekend in Chicago and I can confirm that sadly your comments are true. It was a fun night, but it's not the G&D I once knew and loved. I saw them at EZoo and then last weekend they played essentially the same set. Sad its come to this...there was a time when these guys were some of the most innovative remixers and producers out there but now they are caning Dada Life, Arty and an 'As The Rush Comes' dubstep remix over and over again.

Just got the confirmation that I'll be opening for this one! I'm seeing a couple mixed reviews in this thread regarding G&D's recent sets. The last time I saw Josh Gabriel play I was really blown away, it was an absolutely perfect set in every way. I was so impressed with Josh's set that I wrote up a two page review on it. Dave has been impressive as of late as well.
I am personally very excited for G&D's comeback tour, have been hoping for a while now that they would reunite. After all of the legendary nights they have performed here in NYC over the years, I can only assume that they are really excited for this event. I am confident that they will bring it proper and I am looking forward to hearing how they have evolved since the last time I saw them together.
As for the Dubstep comment from "mcadrenaline", I really hope that G&D keep away from the Dubstep (everyone should imo) :)
I posted a facebook event for this less than 24 hours ago and I am already getting a great response via email & via facebook. Based on this response I think it will be a great night. Looking forward to seeing all of you there!

Touring for the first time since 2008, the newly reunited Josh Gabriel and Dave Dresden return to Pacha New York on Friday, March 2nd. The production geniuses behind
Motorcycle's epic "As The Rush Comes," and "Tracking Treasure Down" specialize in progressive-flavored vocals that move your heart and your feet. And they've been known to
dabble in wordless bangers too (check out Gabriel's "Entanglement" & "Summit"). Join us for a very special reunion four years in the making, along with a special opening set by
NYC local top jock Jason Jollins!
Also, don't forget to catch upcoming locals The House Cartel in the basement from 2AM-close.
