Howdy everyone. I'm new to this . Went to tonic on wednesday and had a pretty damn good time. I got some complaints though, first of all me and Ruffryda and Evmac and this oriental girl got there at 7:30 and there was still people ahead of us in line, thats ed. Secondly the bouncer honestly molested me when he searched me, god damn. Third, the club was just too packed, I had barely any room to dance and big sweaty gino's kept on stepping on my feet, and I had to take a piss about 10 times which made it even worse. But overall, it was a wicked night, Max was god damn unbelievable, he worked the crowd so well. Oakenfold was pretty good too but I was getting damn tired when he came on cause I only got 1 hour of sleep the night before. But he was good, was it just me or did he play some freestyle , reminds me of 108 or something. Thats just my opinion people.

| ya it was way too packed, they said the capcity was 850 ,, but i bet there was 1200+ people there... and you wanna hear something funny.. I was the guy with the crutches with the broken foot and I had to ask one of those huge geno guys to clear the way for me(really cool guy) .. this was near the end of max's set , so it was the most packed then, theres no way i could have made it threw without his help :), then on the way back i was to damn tired from hopping so he lifted me up over the railing by the dance floor and plopped me on my chair and that was right when oakie played his first track ..great night! |

Hi all, I've been going to trancEaddict for ages but never post for some reason.
First off, I better say thanks to Swamper for keeping this place going as strong as it has been. (I don't know if he'll read this, but cudos where cudos are do).
As for Oakenfold and Graham at Tonic, I got there REALLY late, around 10:30. The line was already to the entrance for the underground parking for the Paramount. My buddy and I wisely decided to "crease" the bouncer $10 each to get in.
I loved what they did with the lighting in Tonic that night... way better than their usual set ups. After chilling for a few minutes, I went to the back room. There's a part there that goes down a few stairs and usually has a pool a table in it, but that night, the pool table was gone and there was a whole bunch of couches. I talked to my friend who was bouncing that area, keeping people out, and he said it was VIP. He informed me tbat Nelly Furtado, Paul Oakenfold, Max Graham, Oakenfold's ladies, Graham's ladies, and the Chemical Brothers would all be chilling in there after Paul's set. I blew my top. But as an added bonus, he said for $20 a head, we're in there.
But while it's a fantastic story to tell, by the end of Paul's set I was so tired, and both my friend and I had to be up at 7:00 the next day so we took off. We figured: A) what the hell would we say to Paul and Max and Nelly anyways, and B) they really wouldn't care even if we did have something to say. The only logical explanation for chilling was just to say we did it, but the night was pricey enough as it was.
To bad I had to get up the next day. But it just goes to show that with a little confidence the saying holds true: money is everything.
Anyways, count me in for the Max Graham night at Turbo... Hopefully it's not as packed as Tonic was.
Peace,
Will |
