| So I've been out of serious production mode for a long while now and wanted to know what producers are using to program drums in trance/house tracks these days. For example, using the sampler in FL Studio are a lot of producers still using samples taken from sample CDs, etc. (think Total House, Total House 2, etc.)? Just wanted a bit of a refresher, thanks! |

| I use one hit samples from Penton Drums and create my own. |

| Thanks for the response. Yea, I'm talking about one-hit sample CDs (one track full of just snares, one track for kicks, and so on). Good to know these are still used. |

| I'm on FL Studio, but I've been using Maschine within FL to sequence the drums |

| How old is that total house sample cd? I've never heard of it. |

I don't use FLS, but I also use Maschine for triggering most of my EDM samples, although sometimes I'll just drop samples directly onto an audio track and arrange them there. I'm also starting to use Xfer Nerve more and more - OP might want to check it out. |

there was a post here awhile back with tons and tons of free one hits, from the 909, 606, 808, wet and dry. Plus one folder I use almost exclusively now. Wave Alchemy was the name and they have some pretty nice samples- all one hits. I sequence my drum patters using ReDrum rewired into Ableton.
EDIT:
I just bump'd the thread that had the link for all the samples I just mentioned above. In case you didn't see it here's the link:
http://www.tranceaddict.com/forums/...ht=wave+alchemy
and as far as I know the "free samples" are still available for download. |
