I looked around and found a couple things that can do this: Soundflower and Jack OS X. What I wanted to do was run Traktor into a Logic audio track and be able to apply a master EQ/fx for a live thing. Ultimately I gave up because I couldn't seem to get the audio interface I/O to retain functionality with the third-party routing things active. (You have to set all the applications' audio device to either Soundflower or Jack depending, so you no longer have any control of your interfaces' ins and outs) And also there was unwanted signal monitoring. I could get the signal to run into Logic but the same signal would still be playing in Traktor resulting in a doubling of the audio.
I vaguely remember someone mentioning (probably L4C) that there was a way to do this inside OSX without any third party software, so I'm interested in that, or if anyone has any idea of how I can get this to work otherwise. I suppose it's not a huge deal I just want a master EQ so I don't have to plug my interface into the ty house mixer

explain a bit further, I use soundflower a lot and maybe can help.
so....
Traktor output -> Logic
Logic output -> house system.
is that it? That seems simple enough

kinda makes you wonder why they haven't incorporated the ability to laud AU.
no there is no way to do it without 3rd party software. Soundflower works well. Never tried jackos but have heard good things from people using that with plogue. I think you have to adjust the settings. The doubled audio is a pretty clear cut sign that something is not set somewhere properly.
I would be careful using more than you need in that well the odds of things crashing seem to get exponentially higher when you start doing stuff like this. When i did my brothers wedding, i had a new macpro with a clean install with only the stuff i was using on it installed using SSD and I had to use the ipod once when it crashed.

Meriter, what are you running for your audio card?
I was able to route maschine as a deck in traktor.
Are you trying to have individual decks outputted as different channels in logic or just the master from traktor to logic?
meriter
using motu 828 mk2
I'm looking to run Traktor's main output into a single audio track in Logic while retaining full functionality of the MOTU audio interface.
In order to get Soundflower to work, you need to set the audio device in both applications as Soundflower, and then you have it's virtual ins and outs to work with, but then there's no routing options for the MOTU. Logic can only use 1 audio driver at a time (as far as I can tell)
So within Logic it would be like:
Audio track one (soundflower in 1+2)
Audio track two (MOTU in 1+2)
and then route everything to the MOTU's main and alt outs

Admittedly I didn't spend a ton of time ing around but I wanted to make sure this was even possible first. I am a bit worried about stability but both the programs seem pretty light and I would do a ton of practicing beforehand to make sure it wasn't all crashy
The motivation for doing this is I'm bringing the MOTU to play out with and I don't want the clubs' ty house mixer in the signal chain, and I also want a parametric EQ to compensate for the inevitably awful room acoustics and ty setup of most of the sound rigs I'll be playing through. For instance one of my friends played last weekend and afterwards he told me he had to constantly keep the highs at 10 o'clock just to compensate for the 'long throw' speakers installed in this tiny space. I want to avoid doing that. I should also mention that none of this would even be an issue if Traktor had a master EQ :rolleyes:
might be asking a lot with this, i won't cry if it's not possible

I don't use Logic, but perhaps this would help:

how i did it was have each deck going to a stereo output into ableton.
Each deck had a chain to make gain and eq idiot proof as I was playing music that spanned 50 years. Then the entire thing was sent thru another chain more or less making my job easier.
It did crash tho so i had to use an ipod for a track. But with SSD drive, you can reboot and back to where you were in less than a minute.
