Since its never been even close to 50% D&B and Dubstep its unlikely... Just because Rusko & Skrillex headlined the stage dedicated to that sound should not diminish the fact that there were two other stages that featured house, trance, eletro and progressive... Calvin Harris, The Hard Tour, Infected Mushroom, Donald Glaude, etc and about 100+ other 4-4 style acts. Add 10 community stages, of which only 1 was d&b and I'd say there was a pretty good variety.
Musical genres go in cycles. Last year may have appeared a little more bass heavy because thats what the ticket buyers were looking for. A few years back it was trance and the lineup reflected that... I would say this years direction will likley start moving more heavily back toward the 4-4 sounds, just as the market in Ontario is doing.

| Oh dear god, the exact same thread took place last year with pages and pages of bitching about the price and lack of released lineup. I know I know it's TA and whatnot. But please, if you aren't comfortable in buying festival priced ticket with no lineup released then don't and leave it at that. |

With festivals, there tends to be two types of ticket buyers:
1) Those who are die-hard fans of the festival, and will go no matter what the lineup is, as even going in blind - chances are the line-up will cater to their interests based on their knowledge of previous years.
2) Those who will only buy a ticket once they know what the line up is.
The early-bird-before-the-lineup-is-released is aiming at group #1. If you are not a part of that group - don't bitch, wait until the lineup gets released. |
