I'd also just like to throw it out there that Bedrock were way better than Sasha, and Diggers mercifully retired the alias just as he started making music. There was a time in the early '90s when Sasha would remix any damn , but Bedrock productions didn't come around too often and they were always absolutely outstanding.

It was a pretty rare remix, as much as a Sasha production can be, anyway. It was only released on promo originally, and I suspect it was just a personal project by the productions. It's one of those rare dance records that's almost 14 minutes long but every single second is worth paying attention to.

I absolutely love Sasha's productions. I also love Bedrock's. I am cynical and think that the fact two of the biggest DJs had track after track of classic was their co-producers, Charlie May and Nick Muir respectively. I don't know this for a fact, I just know I have never once heard Digweed talk about the nuts and bolts of producing.

It's seriously one of the best dance records I've heard in ages. Even the most "forward thinking" modern dance music seems so disposable after hearing things like this, or Raff & Freddy - Listen... songs from an era where good dance music was also just good music.

Guilty admission: I pretty much ignored Sasha for years as I had lumped him in with all the other plastic big name DJs... only very recently have I opened up a bit and really come to appreciate his productions and mixing style. I find his production work somewhat hit or miss but there is a similar ideology at work even at very different times of his career (and, as I understand it, while working with different co-producers)... still, I've discovered some great stuff. Arkham Asylum, for instance... what a track!
