| those tracks are pretty decent, even more so that it was all done by scratch definitely , but I would really enjoy it if you would post something from recent times, just so we have something to contrast your progress with. plus I am just curious. |

you can do that on my soundcloud, it's always there,
What do you mean with "by scratch" ?!? most of us always produce by scratch rather than stacking prefab loops. By scratch should not be a criteria for a track: "owhhh it's all programmed by scratch, now that makes the track sooo much better" Most TA tracks are programmed by scratch
but this is not my thread, it's M4B's so let's talk about him instead of me? |

good to see you're finally posting something :haha:
some of the tracks are pretty good, if anything a little un-original. really enjoyed bignabg, even though the riff sounded very familiar. familiar but good.
the harder tracks are probably what I can compare my stuff with, and i'd say we were pretty matched back there, except your tracks have a clarity only outboard gear would give you back then.
also i heard at least one VEC loop in there lol.
why'd you stop producing edm? your production skills and ear for catchy melodies could certainly earn you some monies now that the EDM is all popular and cool and stuff. |

| Can guanteee there are no vengeance loops or one shots. I never used a singe loop. Just was not something I did. Onlyedm library I had was ueberscalls techno trance library they made long long time ago |

As to why I stopped, i went to school and started studying classical composition and all that it entails. Basically 20 years of learning packed in 8. So no time. Also learned other instruments and of course keep up my chops on the ones I already play.
A work day is 14 hours. A day off is still about 10 hours of music.
One of the key parts in learning quick is keeping up that intensity. If you no longer feel you are being challenged, you need to find other outlets. That is my approach anyways.
At least while you are learning. But after so many years, although i still do study and learn, i am more spending time on creating rather than learning. |

| Pretty impressive, MFB. Definitely stuff I would've listened to in that era. |

I was talking about him, I didn't read through the rest of the thread.
and by scratch I meant just designing you're own sounds, which is a skill in itself, at least to most people, specially in that time frame, where there weren't very many forums and how-to-you-tube-tutorials.

16 tracks. Kinda goes ever where but i started making hardstyle for some reason and pretty much every track is an experiment in another genre. Kinda interesting hearing stuff and realizing how much harder things were to do say the same thing today,
but anyhow, i have no stock in these so feel free to insult. Was rather proud in that for each track, never used a loop or a preset and pretty much finished every track i started with no help at all. Stopped when i went to University. So 2000 - 2004. First year was hardware, then gradually moved to software as I saved up money for school. Last 2 tracks were all software.
For those that started listening to music after 2008, the tempos or styles won't make sense. Anyways, i put them in order of completion.
i suppose the point is to offer like a timeline since i never made that many tracks. And there are some hard trance tunes i know msz will love to make fun of. not really promotion. Just happened to find the drive with all my old tracks and people have been asking what i do. Well um i did this a long long time ago. mixing and mastering aside, was surprised how i kinda just did stuff without theory like using counter point lines, using motives, and all that jazz. Dated but still takes me back to when I didn't know anything. |
I will skip over my unfamiliarity with "hard trance".
that said, the following 3 tracks of yours, i would Buy, Promote and even go out to create a Special Set just so i can Drop them:
#14 BIGBANG 2004
-It is classic. it is Epic. It is timeless. you should really try to release this track. the melody is pure gold. its techno, trance and it has a funky house melody. im speechless. :)
#7 BadAss 2002
-this is what prog trance should have evolved into. you have some real talent. i like the creativity. i like the production value and hard work. i like the transitions.
#2 Connecting 2000
-this is exactly what prog/tech house should sound like. i love the sound of the track. the background effects show more production value than anything i have heard from most of the top 100 DJ.
Boys and Girls, the 3 tracks mentioned above, is what EDM, dancefloor bombs, and music in general should sound like.
creative. distinct but smooth sound. unique timeline of transitions.
Looney4Clooney you have my praises, and full support in regards to your artistic en devours with music. |
