Someone ed up.
| quote: | A shipment of 16 kilos of cocaine - with a street value of $2million (£1.3million) - which was crudely mocked up to look like a diplomatic pouch has been seized at the United Nations' mail centre.
The white bag raised suspicions when it was being scanned at the New York building because it was stamped with what looked like a poorly concocted version of the UN logo.
The UN has insisted the arrival of the bag was a 'mistake' and that someone in Mexico, from where it said the bag was sent, would be 'in big trouble'.
But online conspiracy theorists have claimed there is a cover-up - saying that the bag was in fact intended for a UN employee as part of an elaborate drug-smuggling scam.

| I asked a guy I know who used to be a cop in Irvine, CA, who was responsible if someone mails someone drigs; the sender or the recipient. He told me the recipient would be prosecuted. I said "so if I wanted to get someone in trouble I could just mail them drugs and then call the cops on him?". He said "yup". I have a hard time believing that, but he isn't the type to joke aound. /tangent |

man i hope all this publicity silkroad is getting doesn't it up for all the rest of us. :P
and, true story, a longish time ago, maybe 4 years? my buddy tried ordering a bottle of valium from an online pharmacia from some spanish-speaking country, probably mexico.. anyways, so the whole time we're worried it's bs and the guy ripped him off, but it ends up that it did indeed come- and got intercepted by the DEA.
what he got in the mail was an opened mail package, with a letter inside that said something along the lines of "BUYING PRESCRIPTION MEDICATION WITHOUT A VALID PRESCRIPTION OUTSIDE THE UNITED STATES IS A CRIME and it went on a little spiel for a few paragraphs about the legality of purchasing drugs online. it also gave the recipient the option to appeal it if he/she could prove that they had a legal prescription for the medication, otherwise the pills were to be destroyed within like 45 days or something.
point is, i truly think that if a little bag of pot, a couple grams of yay, etc. got confiscated, they'd just take it and destroy it and that's that. now, a key or two of the blowski and now we're talkin big money and intent to deliver.. different ballgame. |
