it's nothing special, any mastering plugin has more functionality than this but what i mean is that if making this overcompressed tracks can be sometimes justified, dada life tracks are quite "in your face" and their releases work very well on beatport.

Related, do you guys put a compressor/limiter on the master when mixing? I've heard a lot of producers do but i don't like how it ends sounding when i've tried.

Why are you comparing it to a mastering plugin. This is a saturation plugin.thats it. Jesbus

I don't like it because its name is a sexist double-entendre for a penis. It really needs a more gender-neutral name for me to take it seriously. Until then, I'm going to be working on my own compression/saturation plug-in called Glazed Peach Fuzz with three knobs, two of which are Throbbing and Tightness. The third allows parallel compression and is called Dry/Moist.

It's a saturation plugin being marketed as a mastering plugin. Duuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuh.

I guess you never heard of saturation mastering.

Andy Blueman use to use it.

I've used it for a few months and found it pretty dire in the mastering / main output buss chain, but it's just about ok when used sparingly on a bass channel for a little saturation.

It seems to add a little warm colour + distortion + loudness.

Ugh, why do I need a saturation plugin, when I already have one?

Lining up some on a Patcher tree together with some EQs, WaveShapers and a Soundgoodizer, and I've got my own home-made Sausage Fattener. Better than the factory stuff.
