Does it sound like a Spanish "a", as in your pronunciation of "god"? Then it's an "a". Pure and simple.

Started learning German and stopped after 2 months and 400 words, i can deal with the strange words but the grammar is so messed up...it's like they take a sentence and shuffle it according to their mood.
