Not seen it myself but the facts I've been given thus far are:

1. Mel film circa early to mid 90s.
2. One of his objectives is to get some money back that's owed, say 70k, but ends up getting back about 120k.
3. Film develops and I'm thinking maybe the group that only owed him 70k now want their 50k back to even the score.

Some or all of the information may not be entirely accurate, but a 'customer' wants me to locate this Movie.

The COR was the first place I thought of.....

Your details are wrong, but it's Payback.

He and his partner pull off a heist where they get something like $100,000. His partner betrays him and keeps the money.

His partner starts working for a prostitution ring. Mel Gibson works his way up to the leaders of that ring demanding his money back. They all misunderstand and think he wants the whole thing, and then think he's crazy for only wanting $50,000 due to the fact that he's going against a large organized crime syndicate.

Eventually, he kills his partner, gets the money, and everyone lives happily ever after.

Oh yea, its Payback, one of the good Mel Gib films before he went off the drunken, racist deep-end.

Edit: of course, this all goes back into people having a problem with Mel play William Wallace in Braveheat, but look at Mel now....an alcoholic racist.
