Minimal? [WIP) Advice [Updated]

I am quite into minimal right now and i think it's not that hard to make a decent track so this is my first take on the style, surely it has some trancey elements as everything i do.
Any feedback is greatly appreciated.
This is a rather simple arrangement , it needs some sfx and fancy things to keep it going and an intro&outro still. But more or less all the ideas are on this, one thing i've noticed is that it does not sound as loud as i'd like, i've mixed it around a -6db kick now i've made a simple mastering with ozone and i don't know if i should make it a little louder

all is donde in sylenth 1, the bass is almost made from scratch so i don't think this is what you are referring, the breakdown synth i think it's a preset with just an automation on the filter. |

some people will probably knock you for using that preset. It's the first default preset. |

The kick sounds like the timing is off.
I really love minimal music, but i dont like this.
I think the bass should be more low passed, more of a rumble not so present.
Just a quick example. But my opinion |

i happened to like how it sounded with the filter automation, gonna tweak it a bit and let's see if i get something better, i will look at the kick + bass combination , bass looks more old PvD style than minimal certainly, new version coming soon. |

Rodri I think the mix is really up there, nice one. Everything is clear.
You need to sort that kik - it's not in time and sorta detracts.
The bass could be cooler I think. More rumbling and mennacing - funnily enough I've just posted the type of bass I mean in a techno number here today - but maybe not syuitable for minimal, not sure?
I really like a lot of the sound choices, maybe not that sylenth #preset though - it's nice but too common sounding.

the kick timing is way off, please please do NOT shuffle around with kicks, it doesn't work. for the rest I didn't listen yet as your kick withheld me from going further than 16 measures
Ok, couldn't resist and listened, the synthwork is ok, but the percussion loops are away off too. it sounds like a DJ struggling to beatmatch
Also in minimal the percussion is minimal, not 2 or 3 stacked loops. This is more house, but try to fix the time stretching loop alignment please. |

i've fixed the kick, the changes are very "minimal" (i don't really care if it falls more into minimal or house, i like percussive tracks but this is not really crowded i think).
The solution was evident, while i was producing this i shuffled the kicks a lot because it sounded odd, eventually got accustomed to it's sounding but the problem was simply that 2 kicks were moved and not falling on beat lol.
Bass is less sharp now, more rattling less evident, modified a bit the breakdown synth but it's a problem right now because i am biased after listening to it so much and everything i try sounds worse to me now.
This won't be a beatport nš1 and in any case i recognize the samples and sometimes the presets used on this top of the charts tunes so there shouldn't be many bashing for using a preset. |
