| Just wondering... there are so many "different" names around here, how did you guys choose your usernames, avatars and signatures? |

| My usernames been with me ever since i heard the Underworld classic King of Snake/Shudder. Absolutley loved it so much. Decided to chooses shudder because the track is better known as King of Snake. I have no idea where my sigs and avatars came from. I was just bored one day. |

I forgot to add about my own username. My first name is Marcus (though everyone calls me by my family name). Since nobody "knows" my actual first name, I could perfectly use it as a nick name :) Well, after some years (and because of my accent) it slightly changed from Marcus to Maaz :tongue2
And both my avatar and signature have Rurouni Kenshin on it because I like the "manga" design, though I'm not really into this "manga / anime" thing :rolleyes:

My nick wasn't choosen but given to my by someone i used to work with :)
Munken means a munk, and i was called the munk for 3 years becouse of a haircut i got ones, where i were bald and only had hair on top of my head.
I startet to like the nick and now i use it anywhere, just now it's snigermunken.
I think my avatar speaks for it self. |

My nick was given to me by my friends, ahhhhh potheads.....we decided to give each other ghetto arabic names....Abbas is a ghetto Egyptian name....

first, let me say this to get it out of the way
MY NAME IS NOT PRONOUNCED SO THIS
i get this all the time.. me saying something in the chat lets say and someone saying "so this is how it goes" or something like that. thats not what it means!
technically its pronounced "sewthEEs".
ive been into egyptian mythology for a long time, mainly the myth of isis and osiris has fascinated me the most. because of this, i went by the name isis for a few years (back in bbs days and early internet).. but then i noticed that it was a commonly used name. so i decided to look for a new one
i read up on how the egyptians used to associated each star or constellation with a deity... isis and osiris were associated with sirius, the dog star (osiris with sirius b, the dark star). the egyptians called sirius "sothis". because of this association, isis was sometimes called sothis as well. thats where my name came from.
i guess there is also a completely seperate deity called sothis in some mythologies... but mine is for what i said
