| Wax Format |
Wax Format is a celebration of vinyl djing. Once the warm crackling sound of every clubroom across the world, vinyl has slowly been forced out of nearly every music genre by the uprising of the cdj and laptop dj.
Music must move forward, things change, technology advances. But surely this doesn't mean you should forget such a once vital part of any music scene, and most importantly the roots of nearly every big dj we see today? The skills of seamless, epic beat-matching which only came through years of dedication and persistence to the cause; a far cry away from pressing 'sync' on a computer screen or matching some digits on a cdj. Skills that used to draw in thousands on a weekly basis to venues and clubs around the country. Whether you were Gatecrasher, Godskitchen, Slinky or Passion, you were all there for the same reason; To be taken on an incredible, unparalleled and euphoric underground journey by only the very best vinyl dj's around.
Those days are now gone, but as the fallen hero of our scene... lest us forget.
For one night only Wax Format brings seven totally exclusive and one off vinyl only sets to an underground basement in Manchester from a selection of our scenes finest and most dedicated djs who's roots firmly spouted from the techinics sl1210. There will not be a cdj or laptop in sight, just a set of vinyl decks and a lot of very influential record boxes!

★★★Agnelli & Nelson ★★★
With a career spanning 15 years and every nook and cranny of the globe these guys need no introduction! The Northern Irish production duo [Chris Agnew and Robbie Nelson] are undisputedly responsible for some of the most definitive classics and most influential trance records ever produced, including Everyday, Embrace, Holding Onto nothing and El Nino, not to mention remixes including 'Lange - Follow Me', 'Armin Van Buuren - Blue Fear' and 'John O'Callaghan - Big Sky'. However production is not where the story ends, as the pair are truly savage behind a pair of turntables making equally as good dj's as producers. Their incredible sets have touched and left unforgettable memories to countless clubbers around the world, especially in the pre digital days of the vinyl turntables. Although, like all big trance dj's these days, they have traded their vinyls for Cd's, USB sticks and laptops, Wax Format has manage to secure a completely one off, exclusive 2 hour vinyl only set from Agnelli & Nelson to celebrate their incredible past trance legacy!

★★★Jon O'Bir ★★★
Lets be honest here, there aren't many dj's out there who have made a name for themselves by outplaying nearly every single headliner week-in, week-out at Godskitchen in the glory days when it ran weekly. Jon O'Bir did just that. The quiet, unassuming bedroom dj from Nottingham made waves on the scene after winning a nationwide dj competition with M8 Magazine and Passion. Shortly after this he was snapped up by Godskitchen and well, the rest is history. Now an established producer dj traveling across the world for gigs on a regular basis and playing to thousands at festivals, Jon has been forced to move with the times and currently DJ's using a combination of CDs and USB sticks. However, his love for vinyl and his roots which are owed to it have never been forgotten. For one night only Jon O'Bir has agreed to dig out his old records and show the people of Manchester exactly why he gained the fearsome reputation that he did in his 4 year residency at Godskitchen.
★★★James Alexander ★★★
James Alexander, now better known as Defcon Audio, was actually one of the key players in the 'glory days' of vinyl Djing. Working as the head distributor of Trance and Techno at the legendary Tune Inn Records, he sourced and distributed records to the majority of A - List Dj's, making sure they had the best promo white labels before anyone else. With that in mind, his personal vinyl collection spans to over 15,000 records. What James hasn't got, isn't worth having! He is also best known for his Mixmag appearance and write up in 2003 where he was labeled as a future hero, alongside other now big acts such as Alex Kidd and the Trophy Twins. James is probably the ultimate trance vinyl junkie, and having rocked crowds everywhere from Creamfields to Tall Trees, he is the obvious choice for 'Wax Format Tayles Of The Underground'.
★★★Sam Mitcham ★★★
Although Sam has only become known on the scene in more recent years, his roots and passion is firmly fixed in the classic era, and more significantly, through means of a vinyl turntable. The self confessed vinyl junkie only managed to break into the scene post vinyl production, and now boasts new age technical and creative sets through means of cdjs. However his unknown vinyl skills and indepth classic trance passion came into the public eye recently when he was asked to play a classics set for Godskitchen on NYE. Instinctively he arrived with a box full of vinyl, and so the crackling story was told to a packed out room. Since playing that set Sam has been inundated with requests from his Godskitchen loyal to do a vinyl set again so with that Wax Format has teamed up with Sam and for one night only his vinyl records will roll again.
