Hi all

ive redone this track with stuff ive learnt over the last few months, recorded some original vocals (krysten cummings) too. i made all the synth sounds and would really appreciate any thoughts, especially mix comments as im going to get this mastered and it may get released on a small house label (which would be a first)

I think the vocals are a touch too loud..

thanks guys!

ahh yes. re upped. should work now

thanks

think there's too much distortion but can always back it off a bit
Julz
Lol I'm a guy sorry to disapoint.

Ok had a listen, you had a good idea with the vocal, just its not hitting the correct notes. Programs like melodyne are great for these kind of tweeks. Worth buying!

I'd suggest Low cutting everything at 150-250 except the kick bass.
The 3min mark the bass change is a good variation.

I see what you tried to do with the breakdown, its pretty cool :], but after the breakdown you need to bring in something new, maybe a stronger lead. Massive detuned square would be cool (think Ummet Ozcan). The song structure wise is lacking excitement after the breakdown.

Good luck hope to hear the finished result

cheers for the replies - good crit there Julz

i took it down because i was a bit embarrassed of the mix tbh. Distortion way overcooked and overcrowded low mids like you pointed out Julz

good advice,

Cheers!!!!

pretty much finished with this one, but would appreciate any thoughts to put into practice for the next track!!

just noticed i think there's too much reverb and it could do with more variation i know, but im fed up with it and time to move on!

thank you

What a massive difference than your original!

This is just a personal preference but maybe work on some nice lush pads during the breakdowns, doesn't need to be in your face just adding a emotional touch.

Break down into kick in is still lacking punch.

Look forward to your future stuff.

thanks i really appreciate that

need to listien to some trance as im not doing that now really!

thanks again

ps do you think there is too much reverb?
