What are people's thoughts on this label? I tend to avoid anything with Anjuna in the name, but it seems like the majority of tracks I've heard on Anjunadeep I've enjoyed.
So any particular artists on that label that people fancy in particular? |

Can someone explain to me why it looks like people are so obsessed with labels? I never gave a about the label, first always looked at the artist and then noticed the label. Now it's like first looking at the label then the artist.
Must be the difference with internet nowadays I guess, compared to turning a record shop upside down and inside out back in the 90's? |

I still payed attention to the label just as much as I did the artist when digging through the bins. There were labels that I would instantly buy the track without listening because I knew that the label always released the style that I really like. Buy doing this i was introduced to a ton of new artist which in turn introduced me to more good labels. I think importance needs to be put on both for the sake of growth in music knowledge. |

| I don't like the label at all. Even producers who I normally like who make an EP for Anjunabeats, I didn't like those. Like Vincenzo and Eelke Kleijn. It's just too candy/poppy/clicky whatever for me. The stuff on that label tends to be too melody-led for me, and they are usually pretty unremarkable melodies. |

You mean "White Room", by Cream or the White Album by the Beatles? Oh, yeah. Timeless music. That Beatles album had a white label, too. You kids would consider them hip and groovy. See? I'm a cool old person.

I think some balance between both is good and of course if you notice an artist and the label you have a look at other artists at that label. But I got the impression a few times lately that if people dislike some artists on a label, that label with all possible artist they maybe would like gets sort of black listed. I think that would be a shame because it's restricting you finding new artists.
This is probably also why I always listened many compilations as the chance for finding new artist was a lot bigger then just searching for artists.
And to the 'mature' ones above, I'm in not saying it used to be better at all. But it was different back then and it had advantages, but it for sure also had many disadvantages. |

Yeah, that was the one DJ's played and I never found in the record shop :( Frustrating it was...
