Monitor screen question

Hey guys,I experienced a wierd thing in my monitor.
When it's off,but still connected to the electric current,it's sometimes hissing-little or almost alot-.
What could be wrong? When i unplug the monitor it stops in about 2 secs.
Any advice welcome! |

hmmm how old is the monitor?
...i think capacitors make the noise...usually means it's on the way out, but nothing to worry about straight away; just means it's getting old i think
i have an old acer monitor that buzzes very quietly when it's on power saving mode, but my newish monitor runs pretty much silent except when u degauss it or power on/off :):):)
