What are your favorite *unconventional* effects?

Inspired by L4C's other thread, what unconventional effects (software or hardware) are you guys using to mangle your sounds these days? Not talking about reverbs, delays, filters, here - let's hear about some less frequently discussed toys.
One that comes to mind for me is Little Endian's SpectrumWorx. I have a bit of a love/meh relationship with it, but when I find something that works, it seems to really work.

Sugar Bytes' Turnado is one of my favorite plugin purchases going back several years. It's just a blast.
U-he Uhbiks are all pretty fun, too, particularly Uhbik-G. |

Sonnovx Vocalizer and the 'Autotalent' autotune freebie.
Use them on drums and random samples to really end up with strangeness.
Autotalent allows for easy automation and Vocalizer is just wild. It either enters untold realms of suck or makes incredible noises from other planes of existence. There's no middle ground. Feed it white pink blue muave puice noise and it shines. Real 'ethereal' stuff.
The vids on the sonnovox site are awful, don't go by them. Just be prepared to work at it. It's NOT easy to use or understand.
Warming audio around with Melodyne is pretty trippy too. Easy re-pitching for drums too. |

That actually looks pretty cool. I bought FLS years ago, but never touch it (not even sure if it's installed right now). Do you know if Gross Beat is locked to FLS, or can I use it as a plugin in other DAWs? I guess Rewire is always an option, but sorta a PITA.
edit: n/m, I was assuming that it's included with FLS, but just realized that it's a separate plugin. |

| Feedback loops. Routing an effect's output into a mixer channel then feeding the audio back into itself creates some very interesting noises. |

Sinevibes Dynamo Gate with a ohmz boyz delay. Really cool things start to happen.
Also my new favourite plugin is something that really went unoticed, Logics Amp Designer. Very nice sounding! |

izotope spectron
its a little bit old now compared to some stuff
I use the morph tab only really, although it does delay and filter, etc too
the morph tab acts kind of like a vocoder, you load a sample and it takes some of the characteristics of the sampl and puts them onto the track you insert the plug on, kind of like a carrier/modulator setup. Seems like you can get some amazing pads with it, can also sound like e too of course
Also pauls extreme sretch is pretty awesome!
