What is with Mainstream??

Ok, I can't stand artists like Skrillex, David Guetta and Avicii for reasons:
1. They bring EDM to the mainstream
2. They make people think all electro is like that
3. They dont produce very good music and take away the fame from much better artists
BUT But when I'm listening stuff like ASOT or anything that's in the top (electronic) charts, I sometimes get called Mainstream.
Goddamnit, should I start listening to some weird beginner-DJ on youtube that no-one's heard of?

At least more. I've seen G's videos being played several times on MTV, VH1 etc., but I have never witnessed anything from A ever on those channels.
A's music is nowadays only marginally better than G's works, and it only seems to get worse. A is trying to emulate G in order to "please the crowds", which I consider bull. Don't listen to those executives, Armin, I know you can do better. |
