Did we lose UN to the mainstream?

I haven't been in a while but the last time I went the music was toolroom cheese. Even the crowd wasn't the same, too many bottle service douches and ****s. No more 13 Percent bookings either, friend of mine told me Steve Bear sold his shares as well. Latest I'm hearing is they're struggling?

Although the sound wasn't great at UN, I used to love the parties there.. Any good bookings still going on over there?

I went there a lot last year (mainly 13% events) but yea it's been really quiet lately.

Been there 2 weeks ago, yes they're struggling but they're not mainstream by any means.

It's February, with January, worst months of the year for club (or any business in general).

true dat, i heard Stereo was quiet last wknd, both nights.

'tis off season for the crackheads too

I wouldn't say we lost it to the mainstream but the club is definitely struggling. It's suffering from the problem all clubs suffer from: ppl get bored of it. It's also not really underground/secret/hidden anymore which brings more douchebags and tourists.

But I gotta hand it to Frank who does the bookings there and keeps the place pumping w good locals. Lets hope they pull out some good bookings when the city unthaws. I had a great time there when Popof came. :)

SAS left a good while ago. I haven't been a good while so I can't really say. Winter is a tough month, commitment to get out, but I always have a good time there. Bishop always takes good care of us when we go and he's pretty awesome for that. Nadir's bookings are super solid and I'd say some of my best nights out last year. I thought the sound was always pretty good at UN. Beats the rest of the Reg clubs in Montreal, just my opinon.

So 13 % percent is no more ??? !! Say it isn't so!

13% is very much alive and kicking! Peter Van Hoesen & Pheek this Saturday at Underworld, gonna be off the hook.

Nice.....Great to hear! Built up a solid brand and made some really Fresh bookings. A lot of Dj's I would never get the chance to discover on my own or even know about.

No more 13% at UN, I had some great nights last year at UN. Crowd was always awesome, Levon Vincent and Donato Dozzy were my favorite nights at UN last year.

I played there recently for the first time. I thought the turn out was pretty good and people were enjoying the music and we went pretty deep. But yeah the club was always divided between bottle crowd and the music lovers...well at least for the 13% nights.

And dude compared to the average place in Montreal, the sound is not bad. There's so many places with worse sound systems.

The sound at UN is a massive letdown. It could be so much better. Atleast its not a tin can like salon daome that sounds like its powered by Logitec Incorporated. Regardless I had fun at the 13% nights at UN hope there will be more there in the future. I like the vibe there a lot, dark and basementish.

it COULD have that basement vibe but its really the opposite of that cause of the clientele and with everything being squeaky clean...

and you're right it has the potential to have really nice sound with that set up but they are not using it to its full capability. then again when we played we brought our trusty xone 92 and it sounded MUCH better than the place usually does with the djm..
