I had such a blast that night! There was so much room to dance I couldn't believe it.
DJ Tek I thought you were awesome! You definitely had that crowd going towards the end.
Great meeting you TA's! Daphna I couldn't recognize you. So gorgeous! ;) Taub, Choobak, Freeza, Redeye, and rubyriva I can't believe I finally got to meet you guys. And to all the other TA's always a pleasure!! |

it was great to see everyone friday! i had a surprisingly great night. this review would've come earlier but i just got home....
The music:
i was feeling kinda ty friday night and almost didn't go except that i had already bought a ticket and i really wanted to see tek spin. IT WAS WORTH IT!! Tek spun exactly the style i was in the mood for on friday and even dropped some breaks! i heard a bit from duane king and scott bond on the main floor but as soon as bond started with the epic trance i went back to the other room for star who was also spinning great. then i ended the night with edgar v. i was loving his hard style and falling asleep at the same time (after my caffeine pill had worn off). I would've liked to hear more from him when they kicked him off but it was time for me to go home cause i was pretty tired.
The sound:
I've said it before and friday comfirmed it: the sound at the roxy SUCKS! the back room sound was weak but acceptable for a room that size, but the main floor.... For having spent $300,000 on phazon i expect so much more. the bass sounds good but the highs get lost in that huge room. if they don't do something about that with all these big name djs coming in i am going to be pissed. :mad:
The people:
It was so good to see all of you! I had a couple crews of ppl there friday and i didn't get to spend as much time with TAs as I would've liked but it's always a pleasure to see you all out.
Brian - tell your crew that they are awesome! I hope we can chill again soon and hear tek spin again. |

| Scott Bond was defintely great. One of the last few true quality TRANCE dj's. Nice to finally meet Melissa, John, Art, Matt and whoever else I might have forgotten. And nice to meet Freeza, Daphna and Ian again too -- Roxy is definitely a cool place... I like the improvements in sound and design alot. PVD will ROCK the place in 9 weeks! |

thanx to everyone that i've met during my set..Melissa, Pyro, Taub, NY1004 and ExelonGT i hope u enjoyed the music, i was supposed to be on from 10-12 but Roxy didnt let ppl in until 11, so i apologize... anyway i had a great time:happy2: about the club, it was ok.. Scott was cool but i didnt really like the crowd.. it seemed like a regular Fri. night KTU party crowd..:nervous: and the Roxy phazon was definitely disappointing.. the bass was ok but there was like no Hi's and it doesnt sound quite together(i dunno they really need to improve on that if they keep bringing big djs..i cant stand listening to a great dj on a wackass sound)HIGHLIGHT\BUGOUT OF THE NIGHT : DJ Sammy - Heaven:conf: WTF was that all about?? thats when i left actually hehe.. overall i had a good time especially cuz all my friends were there..

It was a good night, successful meetup. =) But There was NO VIBE! The system wasn't crisp, it was muddy and too loud. The new layout is great although there is no vip now. Roxy needs new promoters, the crowd is horrible.
It was great meeting new ta's and Scott Bond. :p |

Well, I finally recovered from this weekend. We hit up the Roxy on Friday night, then went to a day party in Long Island on Saturday from 12-12, then faced a hellish ride back to Massachusetts on Sunday afternoon, but it was worth it :D
Well, we got to the Roxy around 1:30. It was pretty cool. After being to the Sound Factory, and hearing how bad Exit was, I was a little scared that the Roxy was gonna be packed and suck. But it was fine. (A lot better then I thought it was going to be) The overall sound I thought was pretty bad. After hearing so much about the Phazon and all, how it's the best system in the world and ...I was very disapointed. I've heard better systems at wack local parties heh...Oh well, that's why I don't have high hopes when I go to parties or clubs anymore, because I always end up getting disapointed :o The sound in the VIP room I thought was weak too. There was like hardly any bass coming out of those speakers at all :wtf: But that's not any of the DJ's fault, so it's allright hehe.
Josh Ryan didn't really impress me all that much, he droped a few nice tunes. But I liked Duane King, and Scott Bond impressed me a lot, I didn't know he was that good! I died when he played Sevan Cities. (Hehe, I remember when that song came on, me and Rory looked at eachother and was like Sevan Cities...AHHHHHHHH!!! And then started going crazy. :crazy:
So overall I had a great and fun night. I danced and stringed my ass off. And I am very happy that I decided to go. It was cool seeing PVD_S11DJ and Rubyriva again. I also got to meet quite a few of you which was great. I remember meeting: Taub, NY1004, butterfly, pyro264jb - you were wicked cool and friendly...I remember meeting a few more of you guys too...sorry but I forget who exactally :p I am also sorry that I didn't talk and hang out with you guys more, but I am kinda shy around people I don't know that well hehe. I was disapointed I didn't get to meet kidnyce though...I brought my strings for him (I would of brought them anyway heh ;)) But it's all good, next time! |
