Man what a day. Probably the best day I have had in Australia yet. Went out on a limb that day to find tickets, and everything just worked out so well. Carl and Eric are such cool guys, and were really happy to meet everyone that day which was just so cool. Set in stillwater beside a lake and and in a vineyard, was probably the coolest venue I have ever been to! Plus the reasonable priced alcohol, and super wicked bbq they held just made the day that much better. As for the crowd, really cool, different from most cox crowds I have seen, the age was generally older, but it was a very family oriented day, with parents bringing their kids and picnic blankets. I was probably the only backpacker there, which made it really cool. Meet lots of friendly and interesting people, everyone was very open and talkative there. As for the music sets, probably the most interesting and creative I have heard carl and eric ever play, was not expecting it. Reminded my of the modern love affairs that Toronto hosts in footwork nightclub. Real disco funk type stuff, example: I watch carl cox play and sing to Witney Houston: I just want to dance with somebody! At around six pm, people started to get real slushed and Carl and Eric busted out some of their more normal music house music and ended the night so fanatically with Daft Punks Around the world, I believe at least haha (had a few to many drinks by that point).
Overall probably the coolest EDM party I have ever been to, just because it was so unique and everything worked out for me and my german friend so well, wish I could go back every year, but will probably be back in canada, so to all you australians, make sure you make it to Melbourne every February because this is a party not to be missed, also remember to buy tickets early and to look out for it ahead of time as it is not advertised, except on RA. only 500 are sold, so make sure your part of that 500! |
