Korg and FL for making Trance? (Complete newbie to FL)

Hello all!

To cut a long story short: I've always been interested in music, in all its shapes and forms. I studied classical piano for a while. I'm 20 now, and having spent the last four years of my life on acting, I think that I'm actually leaning more to a career in music now.

I really want to start producing my own trance, along the likes of anjunadeep/beats, Above + Beyond. I have a microkorg that I haven't used for 3 years, and I recently purchased Fruity loops 10 studio.

I want to give this a real shot. Just a bit lost, as is to be expected I guess! Reading tutorials and the like to give me some sort of direction, but any guidance/tips would be greatly appreciated! And good luck to all you other music producers out there!

Right now I'm working (having dropped out of University doing drama), and I'm not sure whether I should embark on a music course etc.

Thanks in advance.

EDIT: Can't believe I didn't catch this but you should post in this forum, here:

Welcome to our little neck of the woods. We'll take up for drama, where the university left off. If you're just starting out, I highly suggest the stickies (in the forum recently linked to above).

Do NOT do anything suggested in this thread, here:
