| I dunno about yall, But I find that I have more fun at the parties in my area with the DJ's that I know than I do when a big name guy comes in. There are a few acceptions, but for the most part, the local guys seem to outperform the guests that come in and when I talk to my friends the morning after, they mostly agree that the big name guest sux. So I thought I'd make a vote better, do you enjoy the small parties and the local talent in your area, or would you rather see a big name star |

I think that both of them have their pro's and cons. I mean, local DJ's can be good and put on a kick-a$$ show, but big names are guaranteed to be good.
I must admit that i have barely ever been to real local shows, since I think Liebing and Steinbach are well known, though they are local DJ's in Frankfurt. |

Though music is universal, local DJ's share the same culture you have. I mean, I'm Brazilian and hardly some foreigner would blend our styles with electronic music as good as some native (unless, of course, the foreigner is interested in such thing - Yukihiro Fukutomi, for example, has a very cool "Bossa Nova" swing). Such blend can be awesome.
However, great names are supposed to be good, otherwise, they wouldn't be great :D
Voted for locals, anyway. |

| voted for big names. yea it's true that big names wouldn't be famous without support from local clubbers, but i still feel better dancing to john '00' fleming than to, say, dj doofus, even if they both are just as skillful and have similar track selection. besides, big names don't drop by all the time. |

That's psychological, I'd say. You've got that "John '00' Flemming is better", "John '00' Flemming is better" inside of your head: Therefore, JF will turn out to be better indeed :p
However, listening to someone named "Doofus" doesn't seem very exciting :D |

| I dont really care. The sound is important not the name. |
