but basically i tore into her for her use of 'positive teaching rhetoric' or whatever you want to call it. told her that saying to the class 'my goal in this class was to foster a safe learning environment' doesn't mean dick.

when i wake up still drunk i just go ahead and walk to class. unfortunately, the last time that happened my one teacher gave us some sort of 'teacher evaluation' at the end of class. she said 'don't put your names on these, i just want to read' but i put my name down anyway and was brutally honest. she emailed me about it 2 hours later. lol

i also like to go to Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles when I'm super hungover but it's kind of intimidating at times because when I'm wayyy too gone in the morning to deal with anything, I hate being surrounded by black pplz. i'm kidding, of course, but it does depend.

Nothing works better than a good old fashion wake & bake.

I've gone more than four months without drinking now.

There's been instances where I've been tempted, but knowing how bad of a hangover I can get it or how disruptive my behavior can be have kept me away from the bottle.

My biggest test will be my upcoming cruise. I'm debating whether to bring the allotted amount of wine we're allowed to save money on drinks, if I we do decide to drink, or not bring it at all to avoid a temptation that will be there anyways.

It's hard to cure a hangover that's more psychological than physical. Not that it happened often, but having heart palpitations while your thoughts haunt you isn't fun. Whenever I did have the "normal" hangover, usually a shower, big meal and getting out of the house helped. There's been times where I had a beer in the morning and that helped, too, but lead to a crash later on.

I don't drink much anymore, maybe 3 or 4 times a year.. as I've finally realized that the horrible aftermath is not worth the initial buzz.. most of the time.
I'm not sure if getting older or having pretty much quit drinking has me resigned to a 3 day hangover these days on the rare occasion that I do drink. Probably a bit of both.

I find what helps most is prevention, I constantly drink water while drinking alcohol, usually walking around with a beer in one hand and a bottle of water in the other. A light meal before alcohol consumption is key. If you can stomach anything before bed, eat a banana or two and have some Gatorade (to be consumed the morning after as well), they'll replenish the electrolytes and potassium lost to alcohol's diuretic effect.
Also, the absolutely NECESSARY 2-3 PM nap. I'm a complete invalid until I take a nap the morning after.

I know someone who swears by these, they're multivitamins that were created specifically to replenish nutrients for healthy liver function etc.. so you can now live a healthy lifestyle while also being a raging alcoholic*

*No amount of vitamins is going to prevent raging alcoholism from killing you. Sorry Acton. :D
