Ubiquitous Trendsetting on this Website

I don't know how other people feel about this but i think it is kind of ridiculous that once a few people start a trend around here, half the forum people join that trend. Let me clarify beforehand that i am not a huge fan of Tiesto myself, but isnt it riduculous that everybody around here has taken to bashing left and right one of the oldest and most respected trance dj's of all time? I mean, people, just because the man hasn't been up to par in the past few months or even past year, it doesnt mean we should all gang up on him and discredit him from all past accomplishments? Let's remember, this guy has been around for a long time as far is trance is concerned.. he has played a big part in defining the genre as we know it and is still one of the foremost leaders. However let's also remember he is human. He spun a bad set last week. He spun songs he dissed earlier in his career. So what? can every one of you remember every song you've ever dissed? How many times has a song you did not like in the past resurface, and you said: oh this isnt so bad after all.

This trendsetting thing is not just about tiesto. So if it was tiesto this year will it be Armin the next? Will we discredit HIM too of all his past accomplishments? What if Armin completely forfeits his style and begins to play Picotto tunes and house. Will you all then say Armin's career was useless and he should die? I say let Dj's decide what they want to spin and let's be real about what they are doing now and what they did then. It is equally bad to forget either part of a Dj's career, but it is worse than either to jump on the bandwagon and deal out hasty judgements just to seem knowledgeable and to be liked in the forums.

Same thing happens with single tracks too. It became some kind of a TA tradition to hype certain songs(OMFG!! TUNE OF THE YEAR!!) and then bash them totally after a few weeks (with threads like: "am i the only one who thinks that xyz SUCKS?")(see: Rapture, Southern Sun, Ligaya etc. etc.)

I try not to get involved in topics like that. It always ends in flames and mindless arguments.
Either way, I do see a lot of plagurism going on here.

Its sad but hey. What can ya do ? Besides kill them. And thats difficult. Unless you know someone with a big field. And some axes. yeah...

Word. All those losers who bitch about Tiesto should shut the fuk up. If you don't like him, stfu and listen to somebody else rather then wasting your time saying "OMG TIESTO SUCKS NOW HE NEVER PLAYS GOOD STUFF" ... Well sitting there bitching like a moron won't make him play anything else. He's experimenting with progressive now..if you don't like it then don't bother listening.

Tiesto is one of the greatest DJ's in the trance scene. So I don't see why people bother listening and bitching if they don't like him now.

So I agree with TranceGiant and ambrus07. :D

So people that sit there and bitch...why bother you're not gunna make anything change. Only get flamed.

TranceGiant:

I completely feel you on the single tracks too.. just recently the craze was 'Dark Blue' by Cabala, just because someone mentioned that it is a good track, everyone was hunting for it on the net a week later. And 'Ligaya' was proclaimed "Tune of the Year" weeks before it even came out by some of the same ppl that jumped on the Tiesto bashing wagon this week. How much sense does THAT make.

OMG that's soooo last week, I hate this tune it's sooo overplayed, OMG how the can you like it?

The other end - of course - being the "cool guys" that don't like any of the hyped tunes just because he/she doesn't want to be like everyone else.
