Yeah, I should have mentioned that. The demo is an older version. The newer version is 64-bit and has a bunch of goodies that you won't find in the demo, unfortunately. As I recall, if you register the demo, you can access the forum where you can see all the information from the latest version, which has been a long-standing beta/release candidate. It's essentially that way because he keeps adding features to it! But, yes, rest assured that it is 64-bit and very stable.

Furry muff

I have to say the demo is MOST impressive. I think the GUI is a little small considering the amount of options within the grid, but it's not the end of the world, and it's still not Geist

The included samples in the demo are extraordinarily good as well.

I still haven't (without RTFM) how to drag step sequenced drum midi onto the Cubase project window but that must be possible. I'd also like to be able to extract the excellent swing onto other programmed channels as well if that was possible to avoid the old swing conflict.

I'm impressed though. It's really neat.

Richard Butler needs this ;)

I can't recall offhand and I'm not at my DAW right now, but you either drag (possibly ALT-drag) the pattern from the letters or numbers on the right-hand side of the screen. I believe it's the same for the demo, but not positive. I do recall from the demo that there was a way to do it AND disable the on-board sequencer, but it's much more intuitive to disable the sequencer in the current version (specific command in the menus).

That's covered in the manual and in the videos. I'll let you read it.

Ok, I'm about to buy this, pending a little more thought.
Question, I'm a keyboard player, I dislike inoutting notes with mouses and buttons.
Can I just play in a pattern where different kit parts such as the snare and kick are mapped to my midi keyboard?

Can I EASILY import samples from my collections and map each of these to the midi keys again?

Are there things like a hi hat kit, as I like to use a lot of hi hats in some tracks?

Of course.

Not in the presets, at least not that I recall seeing, but you can easily build one using the factory samples, or your own.

Seriously, before you buy it, spend 45 minutes or whatever watching the videos I posted earlier in this thread. It will give you a very good idea of its capabilities. Download the demo, too, but it's important to keep in mind that the demo is a bit out of date - Steve has been adding a ton of features and fixes to the public beta (including 64-bit) and it will be released any time now. He also spends a lot of time on his forum keeping the users updated, answering questions, and taking suggestions on pretty much a daily basis.

Nice.

Cryo

I took your advice and bought NERVE. I couldn't be arsed with the demo, I'm an all or nothing, suck n see type.

Took 10 hours to dl the product and the WAV, whereas usually such things take seconds. Steve said to me it must be a problem my end.

Anyway will try and get this working tonight, but my studio PC is not online so this prooves a bit of a rigmarole with some products, well see.

I watched the vids you posted - pretty deep for a drum machine but hopefully should help me as until now I've made each drum part separately on it's own lane and it takes a long time.

Damn! I recall it taking an hour or so to download it when I bought it, but 10 hours?!

Be sure to spend some time diving into the groove extraction and pre-calc effects, as these are two areas where Nerve really shines IMO.
